Despite a long-running Super Bowl game that resulted in CBS' post-game broadcast of its Survivor: All-Stars premiere not beginning until nearly 11 PM ET, the program still managed to achieve ratings levels that it had not reached since the finale of 2001's Survivor: The Australian Outback and instantly become the highest ratest entertainment broadcast of the 2003-2004 television season.

According to Nielsen preliminary time-adjusted affiliate ratings for Sunday, February 1, the premiere of Survivor: All-Stars (airing 10:52-11:58 PM ET) averaged 33.27 million viewers and posted a 17.8/32 rating/share. Additionally, Nielsen estimates that 47.4 million viewers watched all or part of Survivor.

For the time period, CBS delivered a 15.8 rating in the Adults 25-54 demographic, a 15.8 in Women 25-54, a 15.7 in Men 25-54, a 14.9 in Adults 18-49, a 14.9 in Women 18-49, a 14.8 in Men 18-49, a 13.9 in Adults 18-34, a 12.6 in Men 18-34 and a 15.1 in Women 18-34.

The All-Stars premiere broadcast ranks as the highest rated and most watched episode of Survivor since 36.35 million viewers watched the Spring 2001 finale of Survivor: The Australian Outback.

Survivor: All-Stars is now the most watched and highest rated entertainment program in both the Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 on any network this season -- shattering the previous Adult 18-49 rating of the season's previous record holder, last week's American Idol broadcast.
