Fox has announced the network has renewed So You Think You Can Dance for a fourteenth season, except the upcoming edition will not feature children again.

The new season will star a batch of the nation's best dancers between the ages of 18 and 30 who are highly-skilled in various dance styles -- including contemporary, tap, hip-hop and ballroom. The show is returning to its old format after airing one The Next Generation edition in which the dancers were ages 8-13.

The Top 10 dancers will be paired up with All-Stars and attempt to win home viewer votes each week until only one contestant remains and is crowned "America's Favorite Dancer."

"This season is about giving our loyal fan base what they've been asking for," executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said in a statement.

"We've decided to go back to basics by bringing the best of our past formats together for an exciting new summer featuring accomplished adult competitors partnered with fan-favorite All-Star dancers. And, of course, as in past seasons, there will be new surprises which are sure to wow our viewers."

Paula Abdul recently revealed she will not be returning to the SYTYCD judging panel. Her replacement has yet to be announced, as well as confirmation from the other judges who are participating next season.

"CONGRATS ON ANOTHER SEASON! YAY! Well deserved!! Since I'll be on the #TotalPackageTour I won't be at the #SYTYCD judges table-BUT-I'll be DVRing every episode & watching from the tour bus!" Abdul tweeted.

"Thank you, Nigel. I love, cherish & adore you..always & absolutely! It's been beautiful working w/you. #SYTYCD is a jewel. Dance on!"

In a departure from previous seasons, all potential Season 14 contestants must register online at soyouthinkyoucandanceseason14.castingcrane.com and upload a video or provide a link to a video of their performance. If selected, producers will reach out to schedule the contestant for an in-person audition in one of two cities: New York (March 4-6) or Los Angeles (March 17-19).

The deadline to register for a chance to audition in New York is Sunday, February 19, while the deadline to register for a chance to audition in Los Angeles is Sunday, March 5.

During the audition rounds, dancers will compete in front of the judges for a coveted spot at "The Academy" callback rounds in Los Angeles. Once "The Academy" concludes, 10 All-Stars will each choose one dancer to learn difficult choreography and perform with live each week. Contestants will be eliminated every week until only the winner remains.

Last September, Kida Burns was declared the winner of So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation during the live two-hour season finale on Fox. Kida, now 14-years-old, won a cash prize of $250,000, the cover of Dance Spirit magazine and the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."

So You Think You Can Dance is produced by 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions with Lythgoe, Allen Shapiro, Barry Adelman and Jeff Thacker serving as executive producers.
