Sean Lowe can relate to Colton Underwood given their similar virgin storylines on The Bachelor, so it's only fitting the happily-married former Bachelor gives Colton some advice.

"Hang in there! I know he's going to get peppered with the virgin Bachelor stuff. It's not always easy," Sean, 35, told Us Weekly on Friday.

As fans are well aware, Colton began his journey to find love on The Bachelor's 23rd season as a virgin. As for Sean, he had been a born-again virgin on Season 17 and waited to have sex with his now-wife Catherine Giudici on their wedding night.

"When that's the only thing people want to focus on sometimes it gets a bit frustrating because you think, 'I've got a lot more to offer than just want you want to talk about,'" Sean explained.

Colton's virginity has accumulated hype ever since he announced his stance on sex during The Bachelorette's fourteenth season starring Becca Kufrin.

In fact, ABC even released a promo poster of Colton spoofing Steve Carell's character from the movie 40-Year-Old Virgin, a 2005 romantic comedy, earlier this month.

"Definitely, it's overkill without question," Sean admitted of the hype. "I mean, he seems to be playing along with it and I guess it's all in good fun but it seems like it's all a bit much."

Sean, however, told the magazine he believes Colton will "do well" on the reality dating show.

After Sean got engaged to Catherine during The Bachelor's 2013 finale, the pair went on to wed in January 2014. They have since welcomed two children together -- Samuel, 2, and Isaiah, 6 months.

Catherine, 32, told Us on Friday that her marriage to Sean has lasted because they put in "a lot of hard work" and it's all about the "commitment."

"Love takes work right? You can only live in the fairytale for so long and sooner or later real life sets in and you're going to have your ups and downs so you've got to commit to loving the other person through good times and bad times," Sean added.

Colton's The Bachelor season is set to premiere with a special three-hour event on Monday, January 7 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
