Peta Murgatroyd may not return to Dancing with the Stars next season because her priorities have changed.

"To be honest, we don't know yet," Peta, 31, told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, referring to her husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy. "We're sort of waiting to hear things, waiting to see what our schedules are gonna be like, so, yeah, I mean, stay tuned."

Peta and Maksim, 37, are new parents, as they just welcomed their first child together, a son named Shai Aleksander, on January 4, 2017.

"There's scheduling, as I said before," Peta explained of her concern about returning to Dancing with the Stars. "I don't want to spend 10 hours away a day from my child, so those things factor into it for me. I'm a mom now and that comes first, you know?"

Peta said she loves being present for all of Shai's milestones in life.

"He's nearly seven months now and he's standing up, he's nearly walking by himself... it's amazing," the new mom gushed to ET. "It's an incredible journey to be on."

In order to participate in last season of Dancing with the Stars, Peta returned less than three months after delivering her baby and competed with The Bachelor star Nick Viall.

At the time, Peta was a little self-conscious of her post-baby body but understood and embraced the fact it would take time for her to fully bounce back.

"I feel good," the pro dancer said. "I really feel like I'm getting to my top shape again."

Peta and Maksim have had a big year. Just last month, the pair tied the knot at Oheka Castle in Long Island. The extravagant affair was fit for a king and queen.

On Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars, Peta and Nick got eliminated halfway through the competition, while Maksim and partner Heather Morris got eliminated right before them in fifth place.

Dancing with the Stars is set to debut with an all-new season on Monday, September 18 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC. The cast of celebrities and official lineup of pro dancers will be announced at a later date.
