When Ryan Seacrest revealed Amanda Overmyer was among the bottom three vote-getters during last night's live American Idol seventh-season results show, she had a feeling that "more than likely I would be done."

"I just know how different I am," Overmyer told reporters during a Thursday conference call.  "I know that I target an older audience and a different audience maybe than American Idol provides."

Her hunch was right, as the 23-year-old from Mulberry, IN was revealed to be the second Idol seventh-season finalist eliminated based on home viewer votes cast immediately following Tuesday night's live episode broadcast that saw the Top 11 finalists perform songs from the John Lennon/Paul McCartney songbook.

Overmyer was in the bottom three along with Carly Smithson, a 24-year-old from San Diego, CA, and Kristy Lee Cook, a 24-year-old from Selma, OR.

While it appeared Overmyer was able to peak at the card in Seacrest's hand that contained the home viewer voting results, she said she couldn't see what was written.

"No, but I tried [to look]!" she told reporters with a laugh.

Seacrest then revealed Smithson was safe, and Overmyer could be seen whispering to Cook as Smithson took her seat with the other finalists.

"[Cook] thought it was her [who would be eliminated] and I told her to chill out and stop worrying," said Overmyer.

Asked if she was surprised by her ouster on the cusp of making the Top 10, Overmyer said "kind of... not really."

"It like 50/50," she said.  "I was kind of surprised, but I didn't really go in with any preconceived notions about what I would be or what I wouldn't be.  It really is such a crap shoot being the square peg in a round hole."

Check back with Reality TV World on Friday for more from Overmyer's exit interview, including why her ouster was the "most traumatic thing" that's ever happened to her and how that's not a bad thing; why she feels her unique personality was largely well-received by viewers; and what's next now that she's no longer on Idol.
