Reuters reports that NBC has upgraded its previously-announced cross-promotion between the Bravo show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and its The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Under the new schedule, NBC will run a full hour episode of Queer Eye on the night of August 14, not a half-hour special edition. The "Fab Five" will then appear on Jay Leno's show that night -- but as guests. On the next night, August 15, the "Fab Five" will return again to the Tonight Show to do a "make-better" of Jay Leno.

The cross-promotion is intended to benefit both Queer Eye, as Bravo is owned by NBC, and Leno's show, which continues to lead the late-night ratings over CBS's Late Show with David Letterman. NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker said that the revised schedule would permit viewers to "have a full Queer Eye experience." We'll see how many take the plunge.
