NBC has announced that the second season of The Celebrity Apprentice -- the eighth overall installment of the Donald Trump-hosted reality competition series -- will premiere on Sunday, March 1 at 9PM ET/PT.

The network also confirmed that, as had previously been reported, the show will be broadcast as two-hour supersized episodes.

Similar to the show's first celebrity edition and its earlier non-celebrity editions, The Celebrity Apprentice's second season will feature 16 celebrity contestants attempting to show off their business acumen and impress The Donald while competing in various business-related tasks.  However instead of competing for a job at one of Trump's business ventures, the celebrity contestants will be raising funds for various charities throughout the competition.

NBC has yet to formally announce the season's cast, however several of the competition's celebrities have already confirmed that they participated in The Celebrity Apprentice's second season, which was filmed in New York City this fall.

In October, TMZ.com reported that the cast will feature country singer Clint Black; comedian Tom Green; former Monster Garage star Jesse James; comedian and former Dice Undisputed star Andrew Dice Clay; professional poker player Annie Duke; Deal or No Deal briefcase model Claudia Jordan; R&B singer Brian McKnight; TLC music group member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins; retired NFL football player Herschel Walker; LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis; Olympic figure skating champion and former Skating with Celebrities judge Scott Hamilton; Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian; comedian Joan Rivers and her daughter, former I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! contestant Melissa Rivers; actress Brande Roderick; and retired NBA basketball player and former Celebrity Mole Yucatan winner Dennis Rodman.

Last month, Rivers appeared to reveal the identity of one of the season's final competitors during a November 4 appearance on Howard Stern's Sirius radio show.

The Celebrity Apprentice's second season won't be the first NBC reality series to regularly air as two-hour broadcasts.  Beginning last season, the network also began airing The Biggest Loser as regularly scheduled two-hour broadcasts.

The second season broadcasts also won't be the first time that NBC has attempted to expand The Apprentice's boardroom coverage. During The Apprentice's second season, NBC also experimented with airing special re-cut The Apprentice: Boardroom Edition episodes that quickly summarized the episode's task and focused more on the resulting boardroom session on Saturday nights.

America's Got Talent judge and former British newspaper editor Piers Morgan defeated country star Trace Adkins during March's finale of The Celebrity Apprentice's first season.
