Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey's widely-reported feud is officially behind them.

"Everything with Maks and Vanessa seemed back to normal this week and no one was talking about it," a source told Us Weekly after Monday night's Dancing with the Stars broadcast in which the couple performed an emotional routine for Vanessa's most memorable year. "It's like it didn't happen."

Rumors of behind-the-scenes conflict between the pair swirled for days after Maksim was absent from Vanessa's guilty-pleasure performance on Dancing with the Stars last week for which previously-eliminated pro Alan Bersten filled in.

At the time, co-host Erin Andrews announced on the show Maksim had to deal with a "personal issue," which was never disclosed. But two days later, Maksim wrote on social media that he took "full responsibility" for missing the show.

An insider told People at the time that Maksim and the 36-year-old TV personality and former beauty queen were "fighting a lot" in rehearsals and had "a big chemistry issue."

A source had also shared with Us that Vanessa and the pro dancer were miserable together but "playing nice for the cameras."

However, as viewers saw last night, the dynamic between Maksim and Vanessa appears absolutely fine now, and there was no mention of any tension.

The drama is "water under the bridge," another source told Us last week. "This are returning to normal. Maks has apologized to her and they both look forward to having a much more positive relationship moving forward."

Maksim and Vanessa appeared to connect on a deep level after dancing a rumba together on Monday night.

They danced in honor of the last year, when Vanessa underwent emergency surgery at 29 weeks pregnant with her third child in December 2016. Vanessa feared for her premature son Phoenix's life, but her boy ended up being just fine, and now she can celebrate in 2017 the fact her family with husband Nick Lachey is complete.

Maksim was overcome with emotion following their performance, which landed the couple in a six-way tie for fourth place on the judges' leaderboard.

"We have a hard job getting these people ready for this emotional week," Maksim told DWTS host Tom Bergeron. "We are people too. This got me completely out of my keel. I never cried before [a dance]."

Maksim and his wife Peta Murgatroyd -- who is partnered with Nick on Dancing with the Stars -- just welcomed their first child together, a son named Shai Aleksander, in January 2017.
