CBS has announced the premiere date and broadcast schedule for its new American version of the U.K.'s Love Island reality dating series -- and like the overseas version, it will be airing nearly daily.

CBS has announced Love Island will premiere Tuesday, July 9 at 8PM ET/PT and air five nights a week.

New Love Island episodes will air every weeknight from 8-9PM ET/PT through Wednesday, August 7, when the season's 22nd and final episode will air.

However, the ambitious broadcast schedule won't significantly impact the weeknight broadcasts of Big Brother, CBS' existing summer hit that will premiere its 21st season on June 25.

Beginning July 10, Big Brother's Wednesday episodes will air in the 9-10PM ET/PT time period instead of their initial 8-9PM time period (the show's Thursday episodes already regularly air at 9-10PM ET/PT).

"As the buzziest reality show in the U.K., Love Island has won the hearts of viewers across the pond as well as around the world, creating appointment viewing and fanfare for audiences everywhere. We are thrilled to bring our version of this cultural phenomenon to CBS," CBS executive Sharon Vuong said in a statement.

"This fun, light-hearted series is like watching your favorite romantic comedy five nights a week!"

Love Island's format is a bit of a cross between Big Brother, Temptation Island, Bachelor in Paradise, and Paradise Hotel.

Love Island -- which airs six night a week in the U.K. -- will feature a group of single "Islanders" coming together in a beautiful villa located in the tropical destination of Fiji.

On the lookout for romance, the singles will have to choose partners wisely all the while attempting to win the heart of home viewers, who will have the opportunity to shape events that will unfold on the show as they watch romances blossom.

The Islanders will be required to couple-up every few days, and those who fail to find a partner will risk being dumped from the island.

Challenges and dramatic twists come about as the Islanders form alliances and relationships and friendships are developed in an effort to win both love as well as the grand cash prize.

CBS announced it had ordered Love Island back in August 2018, shortly after British television wrapped its extremely popular fourth season of the show.

"Love Island has been a massive success overseas... Having seen the reaction of audiences 'across the pond' and around the world to this most recent season, we expect American viewers will be captivated by this engaging format," Vuong said in a statement at the time.

"Additionally, Love Island is more than a pop sensation; this series has generated compelling 'sociological think pieces' in major publications here and abroad."

Love Island's American edition will be produced by ITV Entertainment, which is an American sister company to ITV Studios, the production company behind Love Island's original British edition.
