Michael Vick could reportedly return to a starring television role before he returns as a starter on the football field.

The NFL star -- who is currently serving a 23-month federal sentence for dogfighting conspiracy -- is in talks with producers about developing a reality series that would follow him once he is released from custody on July 20, The Hollywood Reporter reported Wednesday.
While Vick's attorneys did not return The Reporter's call for comment, they did a tell a judge at a bankruptcy hearing earlier this month that he has agreed to a "television documentary deal" that will pay him $600,000.
However Vick is seeking "a high dollar figure for participation" in the reality series, according to The Reporter, which added he might get it since producers are "eager" about the project and even visited him in prison with the hopes of inking a deal.
While a potential destination for the show that would follow Vick as he "makes amends for his past" is still up in the air, sources indicated that A&E and Spike TV might be the frontrunners.

"It sure won't be Animal Planet," more than one source told The Reporter.
Should Vick actually land a reality deal, he wouldn't be the first to land on television due to the dogfighting saga.
Last year, 22 dogs that previously belonged to Vick got some puppy love from National Geographic's Dogtown reality series, which documented the attempted rehabilitation of the abused animals.
