Fox has revealed American Grit, a new military-inspired reality competition series, will premiere Thursday, April 14 at 9PM ET/PT.

American Grit's debut will immediately follow the return of Bones at 8PM ET/PT on Fox.

As previously announced, American Grit will star WWE star John Cena and feature former Dancing with the Stars contestant and double-amputee Noah Galloway, Seals trainer Rorke Denver, retired U.S. Marines Sergeant Tawanda "Tee" Hanible, and U.S. Army sniper Nick "The Reaper" Irving as mentors for some of the country's toughest men and women.

With $1 million at stake, 16 contestants will be split up into four teams, who must then work together to accomplish a variety of military-grade and survival-themed challenges set in the wilderness of Pack Forest in Eatonville, WA. They will be pushed to their limits by the show's four mentors -- who will offer firsthand knowledge and years of experience -- under Cena's watchful eye.

The first team to complete the series of mental and physical challenges will, together, be safe from elimination. Each episode will culminate in "The Circus," which is a punishing endurance-based obstacle course designed to break the weakest competitors.

Fox announced it had picked up American Grit back in November. The series is being produced by Leftfield Pictures and executive produced by Cena, Brent Montgomery, David George, Adam Sher, Will Nothacker and Jon Kroll.
