Deadliest Catch star Tony Lara has passed away at only 50-years-old.

Lara died in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, August 8. His body was found in his Sturgis, South Dakota home, Us Weekly reported.

"Yesterday we lost a member of the Catch Family. May you RIP Captain Tony Lara!"  the show tweeted Monday on its official Twitter page.

The cause of death has yet to be revealed, pending autopsy results.

Lara was captain of the crabbing boat Cornelia Marie. He reportedly worked on the boat for 10 years in the 1990s.

Deadliest Catch airs on Discovery Channel and premiered its eleventh season this past April.
