David Ross is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars with his professional partner Lindsay Arnold.

David, 39, is a newly retired MLB catcher who became the first professional baseball player to ever compete on Dancing with the Stars when he signed on for Season 24.

The handsome athlete now serves as a special assistant for the Chicago Cubs team and also works as a TV baseball analyst for ESPN.

- David was born in Bainbridge, GA, in 1977. He attended Florida State University's laboratory school, Florida High School, in Tallahassee.

- He is one of few players to play in the College World Series with two different colleges, first with the Auburn University Tigers in Alabama in 1997, and then with the University of Florida Gators in 1998.

- The DWTS contestant launched his major league baseball career by playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2002.

He later went on to win two World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2013 and then the Chicago Cubs in 2016. He became the oldest player -- at 39 -- to hit a home run in Game 7 of the World Series last year.

- Nicknamed "Grandpa Rossy," David is married to his high school sweetheart, Hyla, and the couple has three children together: Landri, Cole and Harper.

- David has a memoir published by Hachette Books coming out on May 9, 2017 titled Teammate: My Journey in Baseball and a World Series for the Ages.

- He once made a special appearance with actor and comedian Bill Murray, 66, on Saturday Night Live.
