Dancing with the Stars couple Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten certainly didn't hide their feelings for one another very well on the show, and looking back, Alan might have behaved a little differently.

"I'm a very honest person and I wear my heart on my sleeve... Do I wish it was a little more subtle? Why not? But I don't regret anything!" Alan told Us Weekly following the Season 27 finale on Monday night.

Dancing with the Stars fans watched Alan, 24, and Alexis, a 21-year-old model, fall for each other more and more with each passing week of the competition.

Not only did home viewers find themselves attached to the coupe's love story, but Alexis also proved herself to be an excellent dancer and so she and Alan glided to the finals and eventually finished in fourth place.

"I'm still learning in the entertainment industry how to hold yourself, how to speak and what to say, but I felt like we were both ourselves during this journey and I don't regret any of it," Alexis explained to the magazine.

"It was an incredible journey," agreed Alan, a professional ballroom dancer and choreographer who had previously competed on So You Think You Can Dance.

As for what's next for these two lovebirds, Alan and Alexis are apparently just looking forward to spending time together outside of the Dancing with the Stars studio -- no rehearsals and no practicing.

"We are allowed to be normal people for a few days now so we will see what happens," Alan said. "We have been in a studio every day for five hours. It will be nice to be able to just relax."

Alexis said she found love and learned so much about herself on Dancing with the Stars, which she initially joined as a tribute to her beloved deceased mother, who loved the show.

"I have never felt more myself after this journey. I found new side of myself that I didn't even know I had. I really honestly feel like I won," Alexis told Us.

Although Alexis admitted to having an "up and down journey" on the show, she gushed, "It was so amazing because the downs were so down but the highs were so high and it was just perfect. It was like yin and yang."

Country music radio personality Bobby Bones and partner Sharna Burgess were crowned champions of Dancing with the Stars' 27th season.

Actor Milo Manheim and partner Witney Carson finished in second place, while Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch and partner Keo Motsepe claimed third place.
