Jackson Olson has apologized to fellow Dancing with the Stars contestant Guillermo Rodriguez after taking a jab at his dancing ability on social media.

Jackson, a 28-year-old Savannah Bananas player, issued a public apology to Guillermo on Tuesday, October 6 after receiving backlash for a comment he had apparently posted -- and later deleted -- about the Jimmy Kimmel Live! star.

"To G and to all of you, from the bottom of my heart I am so sorry about my comment I made the other day and that it caused this much negativity," Jackson wrote via Instagram.

"I love this guy [red heart emoji] now let's do what this show is meant to be about.. DANCE. ily G."

Jackson posted his apology alongside a video of himself and Guillermo, 55, wearing sunglasses and dancing together to "Nobody's Perfect" from Hannah Montana.

The song fittingly includes the lyrics, "Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days."

Jackson's apology came after Banana Ball team the Loco Beach Coconuts posted a video of player Erik Ostberg recreating the dance Guillermo and his professional partner Witney Carson had performed to "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" on Dancing with the Stars.

"@erikostberg21 but seriously how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal," Jackson commented on the video, according to screenshots circulating on social media. The comment was quickly deleted.

Witney and Guillermo got off to a rough start with DWTS judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.

The pair received  only 10 out of 30 points for their Week 1 cha cha, 12 points for their Week 2 paso doble, and 15 points for their Week 3 foxtrot.

Although Guillermo's scores have improved each week, he and Witney have remained near the bottom of the judges' leaderboard.

But Guillermo -- who made it clear he's "dancing for the people," not for good judges' scores -- has apparently won over viewers, as he continues to receive enough votes to remain in the competition.

Witney has also repeatedly defended Guillermo's work ethic and insisted he deserves to advance on the show.

While Witney is pregnant with her third baby boy and has admitted to feeling tired at times, she recently clarified on social media that she's "very happy" to be Guillermo's partner and doesn't want to get elimination from the competition.
