Dancing with the Stars celebrity Cody Rigsby has tested positive for coronavirus less than a week after his pro partner, Cheryl Burke, announced she had contracted the virus.

The Peloton instructor posted a video Thursday on Instagram with the following caption: "Hi friends, I wanted to check in with you to share some news. While I am fully vaccinated and took many precautions, following CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID19."

"To properly rest and recover as well as avoid exposing others," he added, "I will be taking a break in the coming days. I appreciate all your support and I'll be back as soon as I am ready."

In his video, Cody, 34, admitted he had "some news that I don't want to be sharing with you."

"I have tested positive for COVID again, the second time this year," Cody revealed, as he had battled COVID-19 back in February when he was not vaccinated yet.

"I, right now, have really mild symptoms -- congestion, a little bit of a headache, and cough. But in comparison to when I had COVID earlier this year, it is night and day."

"So that must be the vaccine antibodies working," Cody determined. "So we're super grateful for that."

After Cheryl announced on Sunday, September 26 she had tested positive for breakthrough COVID-19, she and Cody did not participate in Monday night's Dancing with the Stars performance show as to not potentially expose the virus to other cast and crew.

Instead, Cody and Cheryl were judged on one of their taped rehearsals from the previous week, when they practiced their salsa routine in a rehearsal studio and were not in full costume.

"As far as my fate on Dancing with the Stars," Cody continued in his Instagram video, "we are still trying to figure that out right now, so please be patient with that answer."

Cody and his pro partner placed eleventh on the two-week judges' leaderboard with a total 48 out of 80 possible points on Monday night and did not land in the bottom-two couples based on judges' scores and home viewer votes. The pair therefore survived the Week 2 elimination with 13 other couples.

Despite being sick, Cody is apparently maintaining a positive attitude.

"I know what you're thinking, 'Cody, you look so good for having COVID,'" he joked, "and that's because I took a shower and did my hair because ain't no way you're plastering this video all over the Internet and I'm going to look a busted mess."

"That being said, I'm going to go eat all the yummy food I can right now, as I still have my taste buds. I will chat with you soon. Bye boos," Cody concluded.

Cheryl, 37, also said she was fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

When Cheryl shared her bad news earlier this week, she cried in an Instagram video.

"I feel so bad for Cody," the pro dancer lamented in tears. "I feel like I'm letting him down. I just feel like sh-t, to be quite honest. And it's so overwhelming because it's Sunday, and the show's tomorrow."

Cheryl added at the time, "I just hope I didn't spread it. For those of you who don't think COVID is a real thing, it's f-cking real, dude."

Cheryl said she was ordered to stay and rest at home and quarantine for 10 days.

"I can't believe this happened," Cheryl concluded.

During the premiere of Dancing with the Stars' 30th season, Cheryl and Cody performed a tango to "Physical" by Dua Lipa, and they received 24 out of 40 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli.

Dancing with the Stars airs its next two-hour Season 30 episode Monday, October 4 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
