Bruce Jenner's 88-year-old mother Esther Jenner has confessed how she really feels about Kris Jenner now that their divorce is finalized, and her comments are enough to destroy any hope for a relationship with her daughter-in-law in the future.

About a month after Bruce and Kris finalized their divorce after 23 years of marriage, Esther has decided to "be truthful" and expose the Kardashian matriarch for what she believes she really is.

"One thing I'm not, I'm not a phony, and I get in a lot of trouble sometimes for saying it like it is," Esther told the Daily Mail in an interview.

When asked whether she thinks Kris is "a controlling monster" like she's been accused of, Esther surprisingly said, "That's accurate. I don't know why she is. I don't think she treated anybody very well."

Esther continued, "She could insult you with a big smile on her face, I know. What do you do with a person like that? You're going to avoid them if possible. She was backstabbing as far as my grandchildren were concerned, and that is something I can't stand. She's domineering -- it's do it her way, or there's no way. I had very little to do with Kris. I stayed away from her as much as I could."

Without Kris in his life, Esther told the Daily Mail that Bruce is just better off.

"He is ecstatically happy right now. When I talk to him I can hear it in his voice and he's spending a lot more time with his kids. I don't think he's a bit lonely. He seems like he's himself again," she explained.

"Since he has got his freedom he has his own checkbook and doesn't have to ask Kris for money which he's had to do, he couldn't even buy one of his little helicopters without asking her for money. He's not shy about telling you that she controlled the money. Bruce sounds so much happier now, when I talk to him he sounds like himself. I'm delighted."

When Kris and Jenner filed for divorce, Esther admitted her reaction was, "Hallelujah. It was necessary... I have a feeling it was him [that wanted to separate] the way things were going. I hope she changes her name back to Kardashian I don't want her to carry the name."

Esther insisted she has no idea why Kris and Bruce finally decided to divorce -- as he never even told her why either of his first two marriages had failed -- but that hasn't stopped her from speculating.

"I'm not going to push him [to tell me]. But he was so controlled, she was such a controller. I think he had it up to here. For all I know, Kris had a boyfriend... [like] when she was married to [Robert] Kardashian, she could have had somebody hanging around who knows, I don't know. I can't say she did because I don't stay that close to her," Esther explained.

Esther apparently began feeling resentful of Kris soon after she wed Bruce in April 1991 and the couple welcomed Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner into the world.

"Kris never cooked that I know of, she was always running out to eat with her girlfriends and she left Bruce to take care of the two babies and he did. The only one I ever saw change the diapers was Bruce, I never saw Kris do it. He's the one that got them in the bath and in their pajamas at night, he's the one that took them back and forth to school when they were going to their private school, Kris didn't," Esther said.

"I don't know why, she would take off on vacations go to Cabo San Lucas with the girls. Kris hasn't bothered to bring up Kendall and Kylie, but Bruce has brought them up, thank God."

Kris would also be "so disrespectful" and "sit down and bad mouth" Bruce's four children from his two previous marriages, according to Esther, all the while bragging about how "wonderful, wonderful, wonderful" her girls are.

But Esther admitted she's not that impressed with her step-grandchildren, especially Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, whom she never really bonded with.

"Oh my God, the ways the girls display themselves...," Esther revealed. "And it's all surgical work they've had done, what are they trying to prove? Kris hasn't brought them up with any morals, you know, go out and go sleep with anybody... that sort of thing, you wouldn't tell your own children to do that."

Speaking of lacking morals, Esther told the Daily News that Keeping Up with the Kardashians is another example of that. She reluctantly appeared on the series and tension between Kris and herself was very obvious. Three months later, when she watched the episode unfold on TV, Esther felt fooled because she didn't even realize she was being taped half the time.

"I told Bruce on the phone after I saw it. I said I feel violated, you never told me, he said 'mum you came across smelling like a rose, you came across great, Kris didn't look so good.' I said that's not the point Bruce, it's like lying to somebody," Esther said. "Why it's such a popular show I'll never know. There is no good morals, none."

She firmly believes Bruce, on the other hand, is "morally a very good person."

"I think he's done a great job with his children they're very important to him, he's enjoying them more now then I think he ever has. I know they love him dearly. That's what life is all about, the love that we can share."

Esther, a retired insurance agent who currently lives in Idaho, was married to Bruce's now-deceased father Bill for 40 years. She also spent 18 years with her second husband Sam -- who has also passed away -- and then six years with her late husband Frank before he died in 2012.

Despite Esther's hard feelings towards Kris, she confessed Bruce has "never said anything to me disrespectful about the children or Kris."
