"This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife," Travis, 24, wrote in a statement via Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 17.
"I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone."
Travis added, "I know that words don't begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I've brought into her life, but I am truly sorry."
Katie, 25, and Travis got engaged in April 2021 and then married in December of that year. They later welcomed two children, Hailey and Harvey, in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

"I'm sorry for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices," Travis continued in his post.
"I understand that an apology doesn't repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for."
The nursing student said he is "taking responsibility" for his actions.
"[I am] getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome," he insisted.
"I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time."

Hours before Travis took to social media with his post, Katie had revealed that she suffered a miscarriage.
"I will spend the rest of my life missing you," Katie wrote on Friday.
Katie's upload included footage of the moment she found out she was expecting. After Katie showed Travis a positive at-home pregnancy test, she cradled her baby bump with joy when looking in a mirror.
Footage then flashed to Katie crying in a hospital room before she hugged one of her kids for support.
Comments poured in about how Travis' affair was especially "sad" and "disgusting" since the couple had just lost a baby.

"Katie, it's okay to leave him. I promise," one person commented.
Another follower wrote, "So sorry for your loss. I hope you get out of this relationship. You deserve so much better! Your daughter deserves a man to look up to. This is all so heartbreaking. I hope you lean into your faith and family."
A third Instagram user chimed in, "Katie you did not deserve to be cheated on when you were at your most vulnerable and in deep pain due to your loss. That's the worst thing your partner can do to you. It's so deeply disrespectful. You can forgive but also leave him and move on."
Bringing Up Bates premiered in January 2015 and aired its tenth season in 2021.
After the tenth season wrapped in June 2021, Up TV announced the show's cancellation in January 2022.
