Brian Austin Green has addressed his noticeable absence from the Dancing with the Stars ballroom when his fiancee Sharna Burgess and her celebrity partner Tyler Cameron perform.

"I was there a lot in the beginning," Brian, 53, told Us Weekly. "[Production] has cracked down a little bit on young kids being there."

Brian said it's been "a little harder" for him to make an appearance in the Dancing with the Stars audience while taking care of his four-year-old son, Zane, whom he shares with Sharna.

(Brian, a father of five, also welcomed three sons with ex-wife Megan Fox and one son with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.)

"I can't be there with Zane and the kids. So we have found a time when it works where they can be home with someone and I can go," he explained.

"I'm always there, whether I'm sitting in the audience or I'm sitting at home watching. I'm always rooting for [Sharna]. So we figure out from episode to episode what works."

But Brian didn't pretend being away from Sharna has been easy.

"The Dancing with the Stars schedule is a pretty packed one," the actor acknowledged.

"They have a lot of stuff that they do, so it's not the time that I'm used to [having] with her. It's just taking getting used to."

While Brian said life has been "going okay" with Sharna working constantly, he admitted, "It's going to be really busy for the next month-and-a-half if she makes it all the way to the end."

Brian continued: "So compartmentalize the stuff, and then when it's done and then she has time, then it's cool. Now we have our time back together again and it's the same thing when I'm working."

However, Sharna's obligations won't end once Tyler is eliminated from Dancing with the Stars' 35th season.

According to Brian, Sharna will be part of Dancing with the Stars' upcoming nationwide tour.

"[But] the tour isn't until next year. It's, like, February and March that she's doing it," Brian noted.

"She's doing one week in February and one week in March. Just to go and do it. Because she loves dancing and she absolutely should experience the fan reaction because she's loved and people love the fact that she's back, so she should go do it."

Prior to joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars' 35th season, she had taken a five-year hiatus from the ABC reality dancing competition.

Sharna took a break after competing on Season 30 in 2021 with Brian. The pair placed 13th -- a finish which appeared to be a little disappointing for the pro dancer.

While Sharna continues to wow fans and impress with her choreography, Brian insisted he doesn't mind having to "hold down the fort" at home.

"Then it'll be the same thing when I'm gone doing something," he told the magazine. "She'll be holding down the fort. We are learning the trade off of that."

Brian also has a show of his own currently airing on Monday nights at 8PM ET/PT: Celebrity Name That Tune.

"I'm just freewheeling right now," Brian said of life after filming the Fox show.

"I'm lucky enough to have this time off right now, so these things have worked out. Name That Tune we shot in Ireland. So I had this amazing trip to Ireland with my fiancee. It was great. There are a lot of these things where they just work out and it's just a bonus all around."

Brian suggested things are just falling into place for the couple, who got engaged in July 2023 and are taking their time planning a wedding.

Sharna also recently said she'd love to have another baby with the Beverly Hills, 90210 star.
