Set for theatrical release on Nov. 21, the movie follows an American actor (Fraser) "who struggles to find purpose," according to a synopsis from Searchlight Pictures.
"He lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese 'rental family' agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection."
HIKARI -- whose credits include Beef and Tokyo Vice -- wrote and directed the film.
She attended the premiere, alongside cast members Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman, Akira Emoto and Takehiro Hira.
