The couple worked together with a few of Shelton's team's country singers Monday night, but not without exchanging a flirtatious word or two.

Stefani, who appeared on the show as a coach on the singing competition last season, now acts as boyfriend Shelton's team mentor.

"I loved working outside of my lane," Stefani said in a clip obtained by Us Weekly about working with country singers.

While introducing singers Jared Harder and Adam Wakefield to the practice room, Shelton bragged about Stefani's skills, joking that she was "a country music expert."

"Also, she's hot," Shelton added.

Stefani joins Sean "Diddy" Combs, Patti LaBelle and Tori Kelly as team mentors for this season's "The Voice" coaches, which also include Pharrell Williams, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.

Last week, news broke Shelton was suing a tabloid over a report claiming his marriage to Miranda Lambert ended over alcoholism and womanizing.

The magazine, which Shelton is suing for $2 million, published the story in September.
