Big Brother's houseguests evicted John McGuire for the second time this season, determining the Final 3, during Wednesday night's live broadcast on CBS.

On Day 89, Vanessa Rousso cried to Liz Nolan because she felt so bad about getting rid of Austin Matelson. Vanessa explained she never could have beaten Austin in the end, so it was something she had to do and felt awful about. Liz pretended she understood, but she was in absolutely shock over the betrayal. Liz was aware Austin and Vanessa had an alliance from Day 2 of the game, and so she felt completely on her own.

No one really cared that Steve Moses was the new Head of Household because the Power of Veto was the only thing that mattered for making the Final 3. Liz didn't like Steve anymore and hoped to win the PoV for Austin and her sister Julia Nolan.

It sickened Liz to work with Vanessa going forward, but that was her only possibility and hope of staying in the game. Liz told Vanessa she felt no animosity towards her, and Vanessa swore she wasn't alone. Vanessa promised Liz she'd take her to the Final 3. However, Vanessa also promised John the same thing. She could work both sides since there was no chance she'd make it to the Final 3 with both of them.

Vanessa told John it would be stupid to take Liz to the end because she had a good HoH record, never pissed anyone off and had two clear votes already in jury.

At the Nomination Ceremony, Steve put John and Vanessa on the chopping block. Neither player was really phased, and Steve insisted it was solely strategy and nothing personal. Steve just didn't want Vanessa to win the PoV because he didn't think he could beat her in the end. He also no longer trusted her.

Meanwhile, footage in the jury house was shown and Austin has been bashing Vanessa so that no one will vote to give her the $500,000 grand prize. Shelli Poole, on the other hand, argued that no one played the game like Vanessa and she deserved to win. Austin argued Vanessa's game was very flawed and he would know it since they were allies from the start.

The Power of Veto competition then commenced. Dubbed "Martial Smarts," the houseguests were required to recall which day events happened in the Big Brother house. They could choose the days by kicking or punching buttons.

The veto came down to John and Vanessa, and it turns out Vanessa won the PoV. She was thrilled and so was Liz, because Liz was convinced she was going to the Final 3.

For winning the PoV, Vanessa got to take herself off the chopping block and also choose the person she wanted to evict from the house. With Liz -- the replacement nominee -- and John on the block, Vanessa decided to evict John and take Liz one step further in the game. Vanessa explained that John never would've honored a deal with her because he had been game-long besties with Steve.

In his second post-eviction interview, John told Big Brother host Julie Chen he also would've evicted Vanessa if he had the chance. He believes the Final 2 showdown will be between Vanessa and Steve.

John had previously been evicted but won his way back into the game by defeating fellow jurors in a competition. It was surprising he lasted for a couple more evictions after that.
