Bachelor in Paradise alum Katherine "Kat" Izzo has revealed a big red flag she ignored in her relationship with Dale Moss.

"Where was the first crack that you really started to notice that this wasn't going to work?'" co-host Rachel Recchia asked Kat during the Tuesday, January 27 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"Honestly, probably while [Bachelor in Paradise] was airing [in Summer 2025]," Kat revealed.

"There were moments -- this was the first time where I felt like so much that you saw was so true to form. I was watching situations that I thought I understood."

Kat recalled, for instance, the Allyshia Gupta and Jonathon Johnson drama.

On Bachelor in Paradise, Dale -- who was already seriously dating Kat by this point -- was shown admitting to a few of the other bachelors, "I just want to go on a date to see if Kat sweats."

Jonathon told Kat what Dale had said, making Kat feel like Paradise was just a game to Dale, but Dale denied that ever happened.

Dale -- who was also caught on-camera saying he'd absolutely "rip another date" if given the opportunity -- accused Jonathon of trying to sabotage his relationship with Kat.

Dale ended up telling Kat that whatever she heard was just "boys talk" that got misconstrued, and Kat chose to believe him.

And then once Allyshia arrived in Paradise, footage showed Dale gushing about her beauty and personality and how he wanted to get to know her better.

"When we were having our first fight in Paradise, it's hard to remember, but I brought up some of that communication in real life -- I brought it up to him -- and it kind of became this whole thing," Kat explained.

"So I kind of let that die down, like, 'It's whatever.' But I noticed that he was not honest with me."

Kat admitted a man wanting to go out with another woman just to get her worked up is her "worst fear" in dating.

"So when I heard that from Jonathon, I was like, 'Oh, I don't do games. He can go play with someone else.' And it became a big thing, but [Dale] told me that it came out of [Sean McLaughlin]'s mouth."

Kat added, "Verbatim -- he said, 'Jonathon was not even in the room,' and that they were talking about it before Birds of Paradise and all this stuff. And I thought, 'Sean would say that because he's always trying to mess with me.'"

So Kat thought at the time that maybe Jonathon "misunderstood" Dale's conversation with Sean.

"I moved on. It was not until, I think, a day or two before it aired -- we were driving back from something we were doing in L.A. with The Bachelor, and he mentioned that it was actually said outside of the room and that it did come from him," Kat recalled.

"So he confessed," co-host Charity Lawson noted.

"But he said that Jonathon still -- it was not said to him and that it was just said in general. He stood on that. And I'm like, 'Wait, so that did come out of your mouth?! What do you mean?'"

Kat said Dale was "brushing off" the conversation and "didn't really get into detail" about it.

"I was like, 'What?!' But I get it that when you're in these places, it can be hard to remember things, so whatever," Kat noted.

"And then I actually watched him say it TO JONATHON'S FACE [on the show]. And I'm like, 'You don't mix that up! That happened!' And at the same time, I'm seeing how he was with Allyshia, which -- [I knew] none of that."

Kat said she knew Allyshia didn't like her but she didn't know about the extent of Dale's interest in her.

Dale had said on Bachelor in Paradise, for example, that Allyshia was a very cool and beautiful girl with whom he "connected without even trying."

Dale actually seemed torn between dating Allyshia and continuing his relationship with Kat.

"It was bringing back old trauma from two years ago when I saw people's feelings about me without knowing, and it was just really, really hard. It was one of the hardest episodes to watch," Kat admitted.

Kat told Charity and Rachel that she "really needed" Dale to "reassure" her.

"[I thought] we'd talk it through, because I can be very understanding and forgiving," she noted.

"I don't hold grudges. I wish I did, but I can't. I can just understand that people make mistakes and you can have low-character moments, especially in these environments."

But Kat claimed Dale's lie was "completely deflected" when she talked about it with him.

"I guess he was going through something else and could not talk to me. I felt like every time I tried to bring up something I was experiencing watching the show, he was like, 'Well, we already moved past that. Why are we talking about that right now?!'" Kat alleged.

"[I said], 'Well, I moved past something completely different, and I don't want this to reflect what's going to happen. Let's just have a conversation.' It just kept getting, in my opinion, minimized."

Kat claimed that Dale took "no accountability" or "reflection on his emotions."

At that point, Kat and Dale started going to therapy together, with Kat sharing, "I guess I just had compassion for him for whatever was happening instead."

At that time, Kat acknowledged, "We saw that our communication did not align very well. It felt like he was still in that space where he felt attacked, which is okay, I've lived that."

Kat said every time she brought up something to Dale, he'd try to "prove" to her why he "was not wrong."

Kat elaborated, "He was not like, 'Let me understand your feelings more. Let me understand myself more,' which is a maturity thing. I think that just takes time."

Kat alleged that Dale, instead of taking responsibility for his mistakes, would preach to her about his high level of emotional intelligence.

"He'd say, 'I studied stress management and I know all of these things about communication. I've done all this stuff, and so, don't bother me with this. I'm 36 years old,' and blah, blah, blah," Kat lamented.

"I was like, 'Congrats.' It was really weird."

Kat also shared that Dale had said he was busy most weekends, doing things required a lot of his attention.

"So I just felt like I didn't even have a boyfriend at some points," Kat complained.

"I was like, 'Am I in a relationship right now? I don't really feel loved or taken care of in the way that I thought I was going to.' That might be what's okay for someone else, but I know I need a lot more than what I was receiving."

The aesthetic nurse from San Diego concluded, "It just felt like, 'I either have to accept his lifestyle and his life or move on.' It didn't feel like we were trying to build a relationship together."

Reports swirled in November 2025 that Kat and Dale had broken up in October after about six months of dating, but neither Bachelor in Paradise alum has spoken out about their relationship status -- until now.

Kat confirmed that she and Dale have split, and she cited long distance and Dale's career aspirations as being major problems they faced.

Dale and Kat were smitten with each other on Bachelor in Paradise after they both experienced previous heartbreaks within Bachelor Nation.

Kat originally appeared on Season 27 of The Bachelor starring Zach Shallcross. After she left the show brokenhearted, she got engaged to John Henry Spurlock on Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2023.

Dale, meanwhile, proposed to Clare Crawley on Season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020. Following their 2021 split, he moved on with HGTV star Galey Alix.
