Alfonso Ribeiro, who scores near the top of the judges' leaderboard every week on Dancing with the Stars, might have to drop out of the nineteenth-season dancing competition just as the semifinals are approaching.

According to sources close to the show, Ribeiro hurt his back during rehearsal Wednesday night when he was trying to over-compensate for a prior groin injury he had suffered while performing his signature "The Carlton Dance," TMZ reported.

The back injury is reportedly so bad that Ribeiro can barely walk and couldn't practice on Thursday. Instead, he got an MRI and was informed by doctors the next two days will be critical.

However, doctors told Ribeiro that chances are high he might not be able to dance going forward, according to the website.

Ribeiro, an actor and former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, and his pro partner Witney Carson tied for first place on the judges' leaderboard last week with actress and Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
