90 Day Fiance couple Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa appeared to enjoy a date night recently despite having apparently been broken up for months.

Asuelu, 27, took to Instagram Stories on Friday, December 30 and posted a photo with his estranged wife.

Asuelu and Kalani were clinking glasses of margaritas at what appeared to be a BBQ restaurant.
While fans could only see a woman's arm in the photo, Asuelu tagged Kalani in his post, verifying that she's the person who accompanied him on this outing.

Asuelu and Kalani were apparently having a date night without their two kids, Oliver and Kennedy.
Kalani went on to conduct a Q&A session with her fans on Monday via Instagram Stories, and when asked to reveal "the new man" in her life, Kalani jokingly replied, "Jesus."
Meanwhile, Asuelu conducted a Q&A session at the exact same time on his own Instagram account, and he shared how he's currently living in California.
When asked how often he sees his two sons, Asuelu dodged the question and said they were sleeping with him that very evening.
While Asuelu and Kalani appear to be playing coy about their current relationship status, they haven't posted about each other on Instagram for a year.

Asuelu and Kalani's last post of each other was in January 2022, when they had celebrated Oliver's fourth birthday at Disneyland.
Asuelu called Kalani his "wife" in March 2022, but Kalani first sparked breakup rumors in May 2022 when she suggested there was trouble in paradise.
Kalani conducted a Q&A session with her followers on Instagram Stories at the time, and a fan asked if she and Asuelu were still together.
Kalani replied, "I'll explain at the end of the month," before adding a smiling emoticon and pink hearts.
Kalani quickly deleted her post, but a screenshot of her response circulated online.

Asuelu fueled the split rumors in June 2022, allowing fans to believe he and Kalani were over and had broken up.
Asuelu sparked split rumors last year when he posted what appeared to be a throwback TikTok video of Kalani and himself dancing together. He hinted the pair may have split because they were supposedly no longer talking.
"Here she is, people keep asking where is ur wife I said idk. She don't wanna join my live, she doesn't want film TikTok with me. She's different from how she used [to be]," Asuelu claimed.
"She doesn't wanna go out with me, everything she needs I supply for her esp the boys... I have alot to [say] but I can't, I'm under the contract my life is under control... It's hard bcoz I wanna have my own space but she don't, she doesn't want to communicate anymore... hopefully we sell this house very soon so I can go back to work."

About a week later, the Samoa native raised eyebrows with cryptic social-media posts about being "single" and trying to remain "strong and positive" during a "hard" time.
Asuelu posted a TikTok video of himself dancing shirtless in a driveway and captioned the post, "Even though is hard but I try my best to stay strong and positive. Let's do this together. #behumble #beloved #growup #movedforward."
Around that same time, Asuelu also posted a throwback video of himself dancing with Kalani and her sister Kolini Faagata, and he wrote the following cryptic caption: "Some people wondering why I'm not on Pillow Talk. Me cuddling my pillow."
For Kalani's part, she was posting sexy photos of herself in lingerie, claiming she was "back into the swing of things."
The pair had also listed their Washington, UT, home for sale that same month. It ended up selling in August 2022 for just under $500,000, according to In Touch Weekly.

Kalani from Washington, UT, and Asuelu from Utulaelae, Samoa, met in Summer 2016 in Samoa when Asuelu was working at a resort that Kalani was staying at with her father.
Asuelu thought she was the "most gorgeous girl on the planet," and then the couple had a surprise pregnancy and applied for the K-1 visa. Asuelu's journey moving to the United States was documented on 90 Day Fiance's sixth season.
During a March 2022 episode of 90 Day Diaries, Kalani and Asuelu were shown working on their marriage after appearing on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?'s sixth season and spending three years together.
Kalani said although COVID-19 had been really tough on her relationship with Asuelu, Asuelu was communicating better and putting more effort into their marriage. They were preparing to move from Utah to California, where Kalani's mother Lisa had moved beforehand.
Kalani said she was looking forward to having friends in California and more babysitters so she and Asuelu could have date nights, but she admitted her relationship had some serious ups and downs.

"I'm so sick of saying everything is good, everything is fine and we're going to end up together -- to just saying, 'Nope, we're going to get a divorce!' I feel like I'm at a breaking point," Kalani lamented to Lisa during her visit to Utah.
"I'm not going to keep begging him to do things. All of this is up to him, so if he ends up [in California] cool, and if he doesn't, well that's up to him at this point."
Asuelu thought their marriage was "good," but Kalani argued that they weren't doing well and she felt like she was raising two children by herself.
When Asuelu argued that he often tried to watch the kids alone but got turned down, Kalani countered, "How many times have my kids almost died when you're around?!"
Kalani recalled Kennedy getting loose in the parking lot at a pumpkin patch, but Asuelu apparently didn't think that was a big deal.
Suddenly, Asuelu said he was done with the talk, and he walked away from his wife swearing.
"You can't talk about problems, and this is why we fight and this is why it's not going to work," Kalani muttered.
