The X Factor revealed 10 of the Top 16 acts who will advance to the live performances portion of the show during an unexpectedly delayed and partial broadcast of the reality singing competition on Fox on Wednesday night.

Fox aired a partial The X Factor broadcast that was unexpectedly preempted by the network's coverage of a Major League Baseball playoff game. The X Factor had been scheduled to air from 8-10PM ET/PT and reveal all 16 of the competition's finalist acts, but a three-and-a-half hour rain delay during the network's broadcast of Game 3 of the National League Championship Series -- which had begun at 4PM ET -- resulted in the broadcast not starting on time on the East Coast.

Fox eventually aired the first hour of the two-hour The X Factor episode beginning around approximately 8:40PM ET. However, the broadcast ended abruptly after an hour, leaving viewers in the dark about the identities of the competition's six remaining Top 16 acts.

Due to the scheduling issue, Fox has announced it will re-air the episode in its entirety on Tuesday, October 23 at 8PM ET and feature all four judges officially determining his or her four acts for live shows.

Wednesday night's partial broadcast showed The X Factor judges L.A. Reid and Britney Spears each meeting with their six acts individually following the hopefuls' final auditions during the Judges' Homes round to reveal whether they would be one of the final four acts in their assigned category and 16 acts overall to make it to the live shows.

In addition, judge Demi Lovato was shown telling two of her six acts they would be advancing in the competition as members of her team. Viewers did not see Lovato's remaining four acts learn their fate, while fellow The X Factor judge Simon Cowell was not shown sharing either good or bad news with any of his "Groups" acts at all.

Spears revealed Beatrice Miller, a 13-year-old from Maplewood, NJ; Arin Ray, a 17-year-old from Cincinnati, OH; Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 13-year-old from Mamaroneck, NY; and Diamond White, a 13-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, would be the four members of her "Teens" (16 and under) category.

Spears' decision cut singers Reed Deming, a 13-year-old from San Antonio, TX, and James Tanner, a 15-year-old from Columbus, OH, from the reality singing competition.

Reid -- who will mentor the "Over 25s" category -- selected Vino Alan, a 40-year-old from Laquey, MO; David Correy, a 27-year-old from Riva, MD; Jason Brock, a 35-year-old from San Francisco, CA; and Tate Stevens, a 37-year-old from Raymore, MO.

Reid's choices forced him to eliminate Daryl Black, a 38-year-old from Elk Grove, CA, and Tara Simon, a 28-year-old from Smyrna, GA, from The X Factor's second season.

Lovato was shown opting to take team members Jennel Garcia, an 18-year-old from Rochester, MA, and Willie Jones, an 18-year-old from Shreveport, LA, forward with her to live shows as part of her "Young Adults" (17-24) category.
