The Bachelor producers are reportedly considering a doctor and social-media sensation to star on Season 30 of the show next year.

According to a source, Dr. Mike Varshavski, a family medicine doctor who became known online for sharing health advice and for his good looks, has been contacted by producers, Page Six reported.

The ABC reality dating series began accepting applications for Season 30 in May, and the new season is expected to premiere in 2027.
The reported outreach comes as The Bachelor franchise is looking to return to what a source described as its "old-school roots."

Producers are reportedly hoping to find a leading man who is "genuinely successful" and "charming" and who is "actually looking for love."
Mike, 36, was named "The Sexiest Doctor Alive" by People in 2015. He has since built a large online following, with over 15 million YouTube subscribers and 5.6 million Instagram followers.
In July, The Sun reported that the franchise had hired a new casting team with the goal of improving ratings.
A source told the outlet at the time that the show needs "a fresh start" and producers no longer want to follow the tradition of selecting someone already connected to the franchise.
"They want someone who's serious about looking for love and not just in it to be an influencer," the source said.

Some recent The Bachelor stars have faced accusations that they joined the show to boost their careers. The show's Season 29 star, Grant Ellis, was widely accused of clout chasing and trying to launch a music career.
One of Grant's own The Bachelor finalists, Zoe McGrady, vented on the "She's All Bach" podcast this past spring, "[I dated] a Bachelor, who, we now know, was not looking for a wife... He obviously wasn't being authentic."
Zoe claimed Grant was "fake" and had tried to "dupe" all of his The Bachelor bachelorettes during filming.
"His online persona is so despicable and just, like, so thirsty and so desperate," Zoe complained, adding, "I don't know what career you're looking for, like, to be a rapper, but you lied about being a day trader!"

While Grant proposed marriage to his winner, Juliana Pasquarosa, during his season finale, they broke up shortly after taping The Bachelor: After the Final Rose.
Juliana inferred on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in December 2025 that she didn't get to know the real Grant when they were falling in love on the show.
The alleged The Bachelor casting shakeup for its upcoming 2027 season follows a turbulent period for the franchise.
In March, ABC pulled the plug on Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette days before it was set to premiere after a 2023 video leaked of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives verbally and physically attacking her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, who is the father of her youngest child, Ever True, 2.
