So You Think You Can Dance's eighth-season title will be won by a female finalist, Nigel Lythgoe predicts.

"I do believe that it is going to be between the two girls, either [Melanie Moore] or [Sasha Mallory]. I think the girls this year have been stronger than the boys," the So You Think You Can Dance executive producer and judge told Ryan Seacrest during a Wednesday morning appearance on his On-Air with Ryan Seacrest radio show.

"Some years, the boys are stronger like [second-season winner Benji Schwimmmer] or [second-season runner-up Travis Wall] for anyone who knows the show, very strong. This year, I think Melanie and Sasha are the right two girls to go into the finale. I do believe that one of them will win."

In addition to Melanie, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Marietta, GA who currently resides in New York, NY, and Sasha, a 23-year-old contemporary dancer from Bakersfield, CA, Marko Germar, a 22-year-old jazz dancer from Dededo, Guam who currently resides in Canoga Park, CA, and Tadd Gadduang, a 25-year-old hip-hop dancer from Salt Lake City, UT, are the two male finalists competing to be crowned this season's champion during Thursday night's live finale results show on Fox.

While So You Think You Can Dance's eighth season is on the verge of concluding, Lythgoe said its end is bittersweet.

"I'm thrilled to be getting to the end of the season, but I'm not exhausted. [The dancers] are just too good. You don't want to appear exhausted because they're the ones who are doing all the hard work, those young dancers," he added.
