The premiere will be a one-hour episode and feature mainstay judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy.

Instead, Nigel and Mary will be joined for auditions and the Academy rounds by Lady Gaga's longtime choreographer and creative director, Laurieann Gibson, as well as Emmy Award winner and So You Think You Can Dance alum Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval.

The dance competition series -- which has aired every summer since 2005 -- will spotlight highly skilled dancers between the ages of 18 and 30 from New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas, competing in contemporary, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, animation, breaking and more.

Once a set of finalists are determined, they will perform each week and face eliminations until "America's Favorite Dancer" is crowned.

Last season, America crowned Hannahlei Cabanilla, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Anaheim, CA, the winner over runner-up, Jensen Arnold, a 20-year-old Latin ballroom dancer from Provo, UT. The finale aired in September 2018.

Hannahlei walked away with a cash prize of $250,000, the cover of Dance Spirit magazine, a role in the live musical production of RENT on Fox and the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."
