The re-release focuses on IMAX theaters including 70mm IMAX venues such as AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, Universal Citiwalk in Los Angeles and Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, Calif.
Writer/director Ryan Coogler filmed sequences of the film in IMAX so the screen expands for an immersive effect. Other sequences were filmed on Ultra Panavision 70 so the scenes in between IMAX sequences are wider.
Michael B. Jordan stars as twin brothers Smoke and Stack who return home to Mississippi to open a juke joint. That very night, vampires gather around the club forcing the brothers and their guests to keep them out.
Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Miller, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li and Delroy Lindo also star.
