The a cappella group Committed, Season 2 winners of the U.S. competition series "The Sing-Off," is recording its debut album, Epic Records said.

The self-titled CD, set for release Aug. 30, will feature a mix of cover hits such as their rendition of Michael Jackson's "Hold My Hand," as well as several original songs, the label said.

Formed in Huntsville, Ala., in 2003, the group is comprised of Dennis "DJ" Baptiste, Tommy Gervais, Geston Pierre, Robert Pressley, Maurice Staple and Theron "Therry" Thomas. They arrange their own music using only their vocals as instruments to emulate a full band sound.

"We are influenced by a lot of different music, so the album is an eclectic mix -- jazz, gospel, blues and R&B all wrapped into one sound," Committed said in a statement announcing the album Wednesday. "It's different and edgy, there's a little bit of something for everybody."

The group is scheduled to tour this summer in support of their debut album.
