Running Man, Twisters and Chad Powers star Glen Powell hosted this weekend's edition of Saturday Night Live.
In his monologue, he joked about being everywhere recently.
"I know some of you are tired of seeing my face. Hell, I'm tired of seeing my face, too. But you know who's not tired of seeing my face? Your mom," he said with a wink and a smile.
The native Texan also corrected claims that he "came out of nowhere," explaining that he has been working as an actor since he was 10 and actually got his big break in Spy Kids 3D.
He recalled how he learned he had been booked to host SNL four years ago while sitting outside his house with his family and how they all shared the exciting moment with a UPS driver named Mitch who just happened to show up when they were celebrating.
The gig was canceled, however, because the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the theatrical release of Top Gun Maverick and SNL creator Lorne Michaels was afraid viewers wouldn't know who Powell was yet.
Powell said he worried that Mitch the UPS driver thought he was a liar all these years, so he flew him to New York City and brought him on stage to recreate the selfie they took four years ago.
Powell also appeared in sketches about a bachelor party that goes awry when groom-to-be-Dave's friend, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, (Marcello Hernandez) shows up; a U.S. Army soldier (Andrew Dismukes) shocked to learn he has been assigned to the "Slay Division," a battalion of sassy, no-nonsense fashionistas; a dinner party that is derailed when guest Melissa (Ashley Padilla) arrives at the restaurant with a disastrous new hair cut; an a man who misses his ex's dad.
