A New Jersey zoo released the first photos of two baby capybaras born at the facility earlier in the week -- and more babies are on the way.

The Cape May County Park & Zoo announced Monday on social media that its two female capybaras, Buttercup and Marigold, were expected to give birth in late October or early November.

"Buttercup, eager to be the star of the show, got a little impatient (to put it lightly) and decided to give birth that very same day," the zoo said in a follow-up post Tuesday.

The zoo shared photos of Buttercup's two healthy newborn pups.

"Stay tuned as we wait for Marigold to give birth sometime over the coming weeks," the zoo said.

Goomba, the zoo's "resident bachelor," is the father of both Buttercup and Marigold's pups.
