Through the use of modern-day science and technology, Hyneman and Savage as well as their "Build Team" of Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara tackle various myths to discover the truth behind them and show viewers if they can in fact believe everything they hear.

Some of the sixth-season myths that Mythbusters will attempt to either prove or disprove will include whether keeping cell phones away from gas pumps is as prudent a decision as those little stickers at petrol stations across the country make it seem, and if man's best friend would actually explode if it ever found its way inside a microwave.

In addition, Mythbusters' 100th episode will air during the show's upcoming sixth season later in January.

Prior to its sixth-season premiere, Discovery Channel will air a Mythbusters marathon on Wednesday, December 26 from 9AM to 3AM ET/PT.  In addition, the network will air another Mythbusters marathon on Monday, December 31 from 9AM to 3AM ET/PT.
