Lawrence "Mr. T" Tureaud is a 64-year-old actor and retired professional wrestler from Chicago, IL.

Known for his wise cracks and energetic personality, Mr. T is a wrestling hall of famer who slipped on some dancing shoes for Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars.

- Born in Chicago, IL, Mr. T is the youngest boy in a family of 12 kids. His father was a minister who left the family when Mr. T was only five-years-old, leaving a single mother to raise all of the children.

- Mr. T previously worked as a doorman, a military policeman, a Chicago nightclub bouncer, and a celebrity bodyguard for Steve McQueen, Diana Ross, Muhammad Ali and more.

He adopted the name Mr. T when he was a bouncer because he thought the moniker would force customers to show him respect. He also claims his gold statement jewelry was taken from misbehaving customers.

- Mr. T's signature Mohawk hair style was inspired by a National Geographic photo of an African Mandikan warrior.

- Mr. T coined his catch phrase, "I pity the fool," when playing a boxer pitted against Rocky Balboa in Sylvester Stallone's film Rocky III. Shortly afterwards, Mr. T starred in the film D.C. Cab, premiered his own cartoon series called Mister T on NBC, and starred on the TV show The A-Team.
