The Medford Police Department posted security camera images to Facebook Monday of the suspect who robbed the Chase Bank in Medford.

"Suspect is a white male, 5'6"-5'8", small to medium build, beige hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans," the post said.

A second post the following day revealed several members of the public had contacted police to point out the suspect's resemblance to the host of Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" and CNN's "Somebody's Got To Do It."

"Good morning folks. First off, we appreciate all the tips on the bank robbery from yesterday. In fact, thanks to you guys, we issued an arrest warrant for Mike Rowe from the TV show, 'Dirty Jobs.' Just kidding Mike Rowe! Keep your eye out for the real robber and keep the tips coming," the post read.

Rowe took to Facebook Wednesday to point out the ways he is dissimilar from the man in the photos.

"True, I am often attired in a sweatshirt and ball cap, and yes, I do share a certain resemblance with the culprit. I've also been spotted in Medford on more than once occasion, (a lovely town by any standard.) However, I am not '5'6"- 5'8" tall with a small to medium build.' The last time I was 5'6" - 5'8" I was in the 6th grade. And the 'small to medium' ship sailed some time ago," Rowe wrote.

Rowe suggested his doppelganger may have been wearing a Mike Rowe mask.

The TV host offered an alibi, just in case: "For what it's worth, I was in Kansas Monday, and can prove it, if need be."
