The 28-year-old LA Ink star and 41-year-old former Monster Garage and Jesse James is a Dead Man star have announced they are engaged.

"There is no one else for me. He's the one," Von D told People.

"You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs," James added.

"I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a f----n' blast!"

While they initially denied they were an item and said they were just longtime friends, Von D and James began dating last summer after James' divorce from Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock, his wife of five years, was finalized.

James and Bullock finalized their divorce in June -- only three months after James was first accused of having an 11-month affair with tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee while Bullock was in Atlanta filming The Blind Side, for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress.

Several additional women then also made similar claims and James admitted to the infidelity, resulting in Bullock filing for divorce in April.

Bullock subsequently left Los Angeles, CA and moved to Austin, TX, where the former couple had owned another home and James owned a custom-car business.

James -- who said he still "really" loved Bullock in a nationally televised May interview -- then closed his LA-based West Coast Choppers custom motorcycle business and followed Bullock to Austin several months later, resulting in numerous media reports that he was still hoping to reconcile with her.

However whether James will now return to Los Angeles or Von D -- who, as her TLC reality show's title suggests, currently resides there -- will relocate to Austin once the couple weds apparently remains undecided.

"If only it were that easy. Having two places we call home will be good for now. In the end, home is where the heart is, and my heart's with him," Von D told People.
