The celebrity chef and Food Network star, 57, suffered a scary fall in late 2025 and has been in a wheelchair ever since, People reported.

In fact, Guy said he's been wheelchair bound for eight weeks.

"I'm doing better," Guy told the magazine in an interview.

"It was definitely a trying holiday, but you know what, you get some real appreciation for having the ability to just get up and walk around and do everything you used to."

Guy said he needed a lot of help last year, especially when it came to cooking his Thanksgiving dinner.

Luckily, his son Ryder, 20, stepped in, and his other son Hunter, 29, has also been supportive.

Guy explained that his biggest hurdle in his healing journey has been the lack of physical activity.

"I'm a big CrossFit and hiking guy, so eight weeks of no hiking has driven me kind of crazy," the chef admitted.

"But I'm looking forward to it, trying to take it easy."

Guy had fallen down a flight of stairs while filming his new series, Flavor Town Food Fight.

Guy said "one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold," causing a painful tear in his quad muscle.

Guy had to go under the knife to fix his leg in November.

The Food Network star said he's ready to get back to his normal routine and hopefully feel like himself again.

"My doctors are all like, 'We know you want to get after it, but let's not go back to where we were,'" Guy shared.

"And I'm like, 'We are never going back to that!' That was the worst thing I've been through in the last 20 years."

He added, "But now I'll be up and ready and healthy and rolling by the time we hit the Super Bowl for sure."

The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star is preparing to host a big tailgate for the Super Bowl, Guy's Flavortown Tailgate, and he teased it will be a family affair that will include his nephew Jules, 26.

Guy got his start on television by winning the second season of The Next Food Network Star. He went on to appear on many Food Network programs such as Guy Off The Hook and Guy's Grocery Games.
