Netflix is previewing the upcoming Western drama series The Abandons ahead of its Dec. 4 arrival on the streamer.
The show follows the rivalry between two matriarchs, Constance Van Ness, who is portrayed by Gillian Anderson, and Fiona Nolan, who is played by Lena Headey, living in 1850s Oregon.
Constance, armed with her inheritance, wants the land that is currently occupied by Fiona and Fiona's adopted children.
"We are a crossroads Fiona," Constance says in the trailer released Wednesday. "My pursuit of your land is not greed. It is survival."
"God gave us this home, and only God can take it away," Fiona says as the trailer continues.
"If I knew I was getting a sermon, I would've worn my Sunday finery," Constance says.
The series also stars Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Natalia Del Riego, Aisling Franciosi and Lucas Till also star.
Kurt Sutter, who had been the original showrunner, and who also created Sons of Anarchy, left the series last year.
According to an official description, the show follows "a group of outlier families as they pursue life, land and power in 1850s Oregon."
