"@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone," Melinda Farina reportedly tweeted a couple of hours after Allemand's representative announced the reality TV star had suffered "a serious emergency medical event" Monday night that left her hospitalized in critical condition.

Added Farina, "I'm so sad about my best friend right now...how could this have happened to such an incredible person..she needs to come out of it!... Everyone I will keep you posted if I hear anything further right now it's not good-we all need to stay positive though she's tiny but strong."

Another statement regarding Allemand's medical state is expected to be released on Wednesday, E! News reported.

Allemand is currently dating Ryan Anderson, who plays for the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, and both he and her mother have been by Allemand's side, according to the representative.

Allemand competed on The Bachelor's fourteenth season, which aired in 2010 and starred Jake Pavelka.

Allemand was one of the last three The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love bachelorettes in the running to receive Pavelka's final rose, however he eliminated her in favor of Tenley Molzahn and Vienna Girardi at the season's penultimate Rose Ceremony.
