Dancing with the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy has confirmed his split from Amber Rose after five months of dating.

After reports circulated on Friday of the couple's decision to part ways, Chmerkovskiy took to Instagram on Sunday to address the current status of his romance.

"I'm addressing this toping solely in hopes that after reading y'all will stop spamming my posts. We decided to end our relationship a week ago, and did so with humility and understanding. She's an amazing woman and I feel very lucky to have gotten to know and love. An amazing mother, an awesome friend, a loving human period. Reserved, poised, and loyal. To stress that to the more common folk 'she loyal af,'" Chmerkovskiy, 30, wrote in an image on Instagram.

"We both lead very different lives and unfortunately it didn't work out between us, but what does that even mean? Maybe it worked out perfectly. I will continue to support her, praise her, and defend her against any narrow minded individual that dares to question her integrity as a woman, a friend, and most importantly the INCREDIBLE MOTHER THAT SHE IS TO HER SON! It's hard to do it all by yourself especially while the world stares and judges... but she does. Every single day... And for that alone I'll always have her back."

Chmerkovskiy captioned the post, "Now go and be good people to each other."

Rose later commented on the pro dancer's Instagram message to the world, writing, "Thank you Val," along with emojis of praying hands and hearts.

On Friday, sources told Us Weekly that Rose, 33, and Chmerkovskiy had called it quits on their relationship earlier this month.

"They're just too different," a source told the magazine.

"Val has been on tour and really hasn't had time to see her too much. It fizzled out, but it wasn't serious to begin with," another source added. "I could see them hooking up again in the future."

Chmerkovskiy had also shared a cryptic Instagram post late last week in which he captioned a Confucius quote, "Enlightenment is within."

As for Rose, she was reportedly spotted kissing and holding hands with her ex Wiz Khalifa, with whom she shares three-year-old son Sebastian, at Clive David's pre-Grammy Awards bash in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The breakup is surprising since Rose just gushed on her Loveline podcast in January that her relationship with Chmerkovskiy was "so good" and "amazing."

The pair began dating after meeting on Dancing with the Stars in Fall 2016, when Rose was paired with the pro dancer's older brother Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Rose and her recently self-declared "bae" then began posting flirty photos on social media from her October birthday party, a Halloween bash and more.

On December 9, the couple was spotted holding hands on a dinner date in Los Angeles, and then one week later, Rose posted a sexy portrait of Chmerkovskiy on social media and captioned it, "When you said you were going to stay off social media until the New Year but Bae keeps posting hot ass pictures."

By the middle of December, Rose and Chmerkovskiy's romance was on full display and the couple stopped playing coy in public.

Rose and Chmerkovskiy were initially "just friends," an insider previously told Us, but it "turned into more" and they began "hooking up."
