The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 38 following Chuk Anyanwu's eviction from the Big Brother house.

Haley Thogmartin said Chuk going home really sucked because he had been her best friend in the house since the beginning of the game. She made it known in the Diary Room how she was "coming for" La Trice "Lala" Verrett.

Barrett Pfeiffer said he was thrilled about Chuk's eviction, and Dee Valladares celebrated how Haley was still Public Enemy No. 1 in the house, meaning Haley could continue being a shield for her.

Dee said this outcome was "best case scenario," especially since Lala wanted to get Haley out "as soon as possible" since she was "fake."

Haley vented to Angela Murray about how she felt bullied by Lala, whom she called a "terrible" person and "horrible woman."

Angela insisted to Haley that she never flipped the Lyric Medeiros vote to hurt her, and she was hoping to rebuild their friendship.

Haley was up for "starting from scratch," but she clarified how she was going to play Big Brother for herself and didn't need to share every little detail with Angela.

Meanwhile, Kamuela "Kamu" Kirk had lost trust in Dee, and so he tried to get back in Haley's good graces.

The Big Brother houseguests then transported back to 1999, where they were about to "ring in the new millennium," for the next Head of Household competition.

As outgoing HoH, Lala was not eligible to compete in the Y2K-themed HoH competition.

The competition required houseguests to compete two at a time in a series of head-to-head rounds. In each round, the players watched a video and had to answer a question based on what they were presented.

The first player to select the correct answer would win the matchup, while the other person would be eliminated.

The winner of a matchup then had to choose the next two houseguests to face off, making the competition strategic. This pattern would continue until only two houseguests remained and then one person won it all.

Yash knocked Kamu out in the first round.

"It's very, very easy to find out who people are working with and who people are targeting," Kamu explained in the Big Brother Diary Room.

"So, for me, getting out in the first round is best case scenario because I don't have to show my cards. I'm really hoping that Yash is the HoH. Out of everybody in the house, he's the person I trust the most."

Yash then selected Angela and Melody Morris to play, and Melody defeated the Big Brother veteran.

Melody chose Haley to face off against Taylor Brown, and Taylor won it.

Taylor then picked Drew Campbell and Rick Devens to play against each other, and Devens survived the round.

Devens proceeded to select Dee and Taylor to play, and Angela vented about how Devens didn't know how to play this game.

"You don't pick your allies!" Angela vented about Devens' choice to pick Dee in a confessional.

But Devens clarified how Dee had allegedly whispered in his ear that they should pick each other to play.

"That will make people think that we're not as close to each other, so Dee, you're going up too!" Devens explained to the Big Brother cameras.

Dee won the round, and so she asked Devens and Melody to battle next.

Unfortunately for Dee, Melody knocked Devens out of the competition.

Melody subsequently called Dee and Yash up to play, and Yash defeated the Survivor alum.

Yash chose Barrett and Mallory Aurichio to go next, and Mallory explained in a confessional, "I want to win HoH because I want to nominate Kamu. I think he's a big competitive threat, and he just didn't use the Veto on his two closest allies! So I don't know why anybody thinks they can trust him."

Barrett survived the round and asked Yash to face off against Melody next.

After Yash won another matchup, he faced off against Barrett to become the new HoH.

"Obviously I'm rooting for Barrett. He is close to me in this house and he's in an alliance with me. And Yash voted me out of the house, so I hope Barrett wins!" Melody told the Big Brother cameras.

However, Yash was gunning for the win.

"I'm working with a lot of competitors in this game: Devens, Dee, Kamu, Lala -- and they've all won HoHs. It's my time to get this crown and show them I'm also a competitor!" Yash shared in the Big Brother Diary Room.

But in the end, Yash was crowned the new Head of Household, and he insisted that he wasn't afraid to get blood on his hands.

"I'm here to make some big moves, and now is the time!" Yash explained.

Although Dee and Devens were excited about Yash's victory because they were in "The Wolf Pack" alliance with him and Kamu, they both acknowledged that they were a little worried about Angela this week.

Haley thought Yash was going to have her back this week, but Angela called her "delusional" behind her back.

Yash was then shown talking to Kamu about how he was thinking of nominating Angela and Haley, plus Melody or Dee as a pawn, since none of the "icons" had been on the chopping block yet.

"Dee put me up on Week 1, and I haven't forgotten that," Yash explained in a Big Brother confessional.

"She has a pretty good social game, so I kind of want to put Dee up as a pawn who's not very likely to go home."

Kamu liked that idea since Dee had allegedly been "spreading unnecessary lies" about him and dragging his name through the mud.

"What would be even better for me is if Dee goes from pawn to target," Kamu told the Big Brother cameras.

Melody was then invited into the "BB Time Capsule." While her chair was spinning, she attempted to light up one of the four remaining powers on the screen instead of one of the four remaining punishments.

Unfortunately for Melody, she landed on the "Lord of the Latrine" punishment, which required her to dress up as a lord for 24 hours and serve as the bathroom attendant for all of her houseguests. This punishment of announcing every single bathroom visit was first featured on Big Brother 23.

Kamu then talked to Yash about how Haley could become a number for them and Dee should be his target. Kamu explained how Dee had lied about the vote last week and he didn't want her to become the first-ever Survivor and Big Brother winner.

"Kamu is putting a lot of heat on Dee... and why she may not be trustworthy, and I'm sketched out, too!" Yash admitted in the Big Brother Diary Room.

"She totally left me out in the dark about the Lyric vote, and we're supposed to be in an alliance together. So it seems like there might be a little crack in the 'The Wolf Pack.'"

Yash then spoke to Devens about possibly nominating Haley, Angela and Dee for eviction, with Dee as the pawn. Devens said that would be "rough" for "The Wolf Pack" and Dee would not be happy about that decision.

Devens explained how there would be a high risk of Dee going home if she was still on the block at the end of the week.

Devens ran to Dee afterward to let her know what Yash was considering.

Dee was shocked because she thought "The Wolf Pack" was going to try to protect one another, and so she considered using her power this week.

After Angela was shown promising Yash that she'd never put him up if he kept her off the block, Dee put her negotiation skills to the test.

Dee confronted Yash, who said he wanted to go after Haley and Angela because they were involved in all the chaos and drama. Yash also admitted to Dee that people wanted to see the icons go on the block.

As a result, Dee threatened to use her power.

"For 5k, would you keep Angela and I safe for the entire week?" Dee asked Yash.

"I'm going to say no to the power," Yash replied.

"What about instead of keeping Angela and I safe for the week, you keep me safe for the week? Now you're just choosing one person," Dee requested.

Yash acknowledged an offer like that didn't come every day, and Dee explained how she didn't want to be a pawn because she was a huge target. Dee cried about the situation, and so Yash had a lot to think about.

"Do you know how much Chipotle I could buy with $5,000? Hint: it's a lot!" Yash quipped to the Big Brother cameras.

At the Nomination Ceremony, Yash announced he had decided to nominate Haley, Angela and Dee for eviction.

Yash therefore didn't accept Dee's bribe, but Dee announced, "I knew it."

Yash insisted he had "a lot of love" for the three nominees and so they shouldn't take his decision personally.

Yash explained how he didn't accept Dee's bribe because keeping her safe may jeopardize his chances of winning $750,000 down the road. Yash said he was playing to win and he'd love to get an icon out this week.

Devens was upset to see his No. 1 ally on the chopping block, and so he said he was prepared to use his own power to save her, if necessary.
