Big Brother's houseguests evicted Britini D'Angelo instead of Derek Frazier and a new Head of Household was crowned during the live Season 23 episode that aired Thursday night on CBS.

Britini, a 24-year-old Kindergarten teacher from Niagara Falls, NY, was evicted through a 7-1 vote over Derek "Big D" F., a 29-year-old safety officer from Philadelphia, PA.

The only person who voted to evict Derek F. was Britini's closest ally in the house, Azah Awasum, a 30-year-old director of sales operations from Baltimore, MD.

Britini had been on the chopping block four out of six weeks, typically as a pawn.

When Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves asked Britini why she thinks her fellow houseguests chose now to evict her, Britini explained, "I think going into jury, there's definitely a conversation of who you think you can beat in the Final 2, and I think it was the consensus of the house that with the underdog story that I have, no one in this house could beat me in a Final 2."

"I was going to have a really great story if I made it to the end, and they wanted to get me out while they could," she continued.

Britini said she therefore views her eviction as a big compliment.

"I knew how hard I had to fight in this house and I knew my story was so different than anyone else's in the house. I mean, I spent 22 out 44 days on the block, so that's an insane number to me. So honestly, I'm honored [to be viewed as such a threat]," Britini said.

Britini added that Kyland Young, a 29-year-old account executive from San Bernardino County, CA who currently resides in Venice Beach, CA, is "a liar" who "doesn't do deals correctly."

In addition to Kyland, Britini said she feels most betrayed by Claire and Tiffany Mitchell, a 40-year-old phlebotomist from Detroit, MI, as well.

Britini ended up on the chopping block on Day 41 after Kyland opted to use his Power of Veto to save one of his two original nominees, Claire Rehfuss, a 25-year-old artificial intelligence engineer from Chagrin Falls, OH who currently resides in New York, NY, because she's really tight with Tiffany.

Kyland, as HoH, named Britini the replacement nominee, dishonoring a deal he had made with Britini to keep her off the block as long as she wouldn't target him for the next two weeks.

Alyssa Lopez, a 24-year-old swimwear designer from Sarasota, FL, had won a second Power of Veto but chose not to use its power.

While Claire and Derek Xiao, a 24-year-old start-up founder from Baltimore, MD who currently resides in New York, NY, wanted to evict Derek F. this week given he's a big social threat and well-protected in the house, "The Cookout" alliance banded together because they've promised to have each other's back throughout the entire game.

"The Cookout" alliance is comprised of Derek F.; Kyland; Azah; Tiffany; Xavier Prather, a 27-year-old attorney from Kalamazoo, MI; and Hannah Chaddha, a 21-year-old graduate student from Chicago, IL.

Following Britini's eviction, Sarah Beth Steagall, a 27-year-old forensic scientist from Boiling Springs, SC who currently resides in Fort Myers, FL, was crowned the Big Brother season's new Head of Household.

Sarah Beth won the HoH competition called "Dash to Dinner," which required the participating houseguests -- minus Kyland, who as the outgoing HoH was deemed ineligible to compete -- to navigate a balance-beam course on the way to grabbing a dinner seat.

The balance beams were different shapes and sizes, with some being wider than others, and Sarah Beth ended up completing the course in the fastest time of 21.03 seconds. Derek X. finished in a close second place with a time of 21.04 seconds.
