For starters, the houseguests will start off the season playing in teams, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"Premiere night the houseguests are going to be surprised to learn that they're going to be playing in teams at the start of the summer, which will change the dynamic significantly and force them to play in an expected way because we haven't done that in quite a few years," Big Brother executive producer Rich Meehan revealed.

And returning Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves will announce another game-changing twist at the end of the premiere broadcast.

"There is going to be an offer made by Julie that could be too good to refuse," fellow Big Brother executive producer Allison Grodner shared with ET. "It is double or nothing."

Allison said the "double or nothing" twist will have to do with Big Brother's "theme" this season: Casino meets "Big Brother Beach Club."

"I will just tease it and leave it at that," Allison noted. "A game-changing offer right at the end of the 90-minute live premiere."

Rich elaborated, "It's something that we've never done before and that will kick off the summer. There are going to be a lot of moments this summer that are going to force the houseguests to make decisions they have never had to make before."

"And again, it could make some of their housemates happy," he added, "but it could really upset a few as well."

Big Brother producers apparently came up with the "BB Beach Club" theme because they believe cast members and viewers are probably all due for a vacation after enduring a year of quarantine regulations, mask restrictions and social-distancing measures amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"The idea being all of us have been locked in our houses for the past year or so and everyone is rearing to get out and go on vacation. So we want the houseguests to feel like they are getting away from it all and hanging out at the beach even though they aren't," Allison explained.

"It is an illusion, it is the casino meets beach club vibe so think Monte Carlo meets the beach or Vegas, and it also plays into the theme as well."

Big Brother's 23rd season will also reportedly have the tagline, "Go big or go home."

"It is going to play into the twists and turns of the season, but it is like a boutique hotel with all of your friends hanging out for the summer," Allison shared.

Rich clarified, "It is equal parts beach club and casino that we are going to be playing on those themes all summer long."

Rich told ET this summer's edition of Big Brother is really going to lean into "risk vs. reward" and have a "gambling piece" to it.

"There are going to be lots of decisions that the houseguests have never had to make before and some might make them some friends inside the house and some might make them some enemies inside the house," Rich hinted.

As always, Big Brother fans should expect the unexpected!

"Live TV, you got to love it. Anything can happen," Allison said. "Let's hope it's not a locked door again like at the end of our All Stars premiere! We fully expect something will surprise us all."

Big Brother will continue to air three episodes every week this summer following its July 7 debut.

Beginning on Sunday, July 11, the series will air on Sundays and Wednesday nights from 8-9PM ET/PT as well as on Thursday nights.

Each Thursday night episode of Big Brother will feature a houseguest's eviction and air live on the East Coast from 8-9PM.

Big Brother follows a group of strangers living together in a house together that's outfitted with nearly 100 HD cameras and microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day.

Season 23 of the show will feature an all-new group of houseguests, and their identities will be unveiled soon by CBS.

Each week, a Big Brother houseguest or two will be voted out of the house, and the last houseguest remaining will win the grand prize of $500,000.
