Three out of American Idol's four judges agree that the eighth season's male contestants are stronger than their female counterparts.

"The boys have the edge right now," Idol judge Randy Jackson told Fox News at Monday night's taping of the third-season premiere of MTV's Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew reality dance competition. "We'll see who holds up through the test of time, you know what I mean, because it's a little early to really tell now, but I think the boys have the edge."
Jackson joins fellow Idol judges Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi in claiming the males have the edge. Cowell stated last month that he was "100%" sure a guy would win Idol's eighth season, while DioGuardi subsequently told reporters during a conference call that "the males were the strongest."
While Paula Abdul doesn't seem to have voicee her opinion about the eighth season's stronger gender yet, Jackson said the new four-person judging panel has been working well together.
"Everybody's getting along," he told Fox News. "I mean, I don't know, Simon's been very lonely since he split up with his girl [Extra correspondent Terri Seymour] but I'm trying to find him someone."

Despite Cowell's apparent loneliness, Jackson said Idol's eighth season is shaping up to be a good one.
"Idol's going to be blazing hot again this season," Jackson told Fox News. "Some different kind of kids."
America's Best Dance Crew's third season premieres on Thursday, January 15 at 10PM ET/PT on MTV.
