"American Idol" Season Five rocker Chris Daughtry has begun work on his debut album from 19 Recordings/RCA Records.

The album is expected to be in stores Nov. 21, the record company said in a news release.

Daughtry has reportedly not lost any of his cutting edge attitude and stage presence that made him a household name during his stint on "American Idol."

Howard Benson, who has produced for rock bands including, will take the lead on Daughtry's CD, with the rocker writing his own material.

Daughtry will also be joined by high profile artists like Brad Arnold of Three Doors Down and Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 for writing sessions.
