</ref>|??????|Shin Gojira}} is an upcoming Japanese science fiction kaiju film featuring Godzilla, produced and distributed by Toho. This will be the 31st film in the Godzilla franchise and the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho. It is Toho's first Godzilla film in 12 years since 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars and is intended to be Toho's own reboot of the franchise to rival the success of Legendary's reboot. The film is co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi with the screenplay written by Anno and the special effects directed by Higuchi. Godzilla Resurgence is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2016.
