Burton Ritchie

Burton Ritchie Brief Biography

Burton Ritchie (Born September 1970 in Fairhope, Alabama) is a lifelong entrepreneur, philanthropist, poker player, and political activist turned film producer. He has spent most of his professional career in Pensacola, Florida where he founded and ran a series of companies, including EverythingYoga.com, a yoga supply internet firm, a tobacco and tattoo chain, and a construction company. He has also consistently been involved in politics since a failed bid for one of Pensacola's at-large city council seats in 1994. When sitting councilman Doug Proffitt published an anti-gay letter in the local newspaper, Burton felt compelled to run against him.

Burton started playing poker in 2001, winning his first tournament at the Tom McEvoy tournament in Los Angeles. He was involved in the Russ Boyd Pokerspot scandal when he allegedly made a buyout offer, after putting together a consortium of investors, that would have paid off Pokerspot's player debt. He has cashed in the World Series of Poker every year since 2011.
