Anthony Vanchieri, the "Temptation Island 2" male tempter and elementary school teacher who appeared in gay pornographic videos, has abandoned his fight to keep his job. Vanchieri quietly resigned on September 9th, but it was made public only this month because the Broward School Board in Florida will formally accept his request on October 15th.

Gay.com reports that in court records released last week, former 'Tempation Island 2' tempter Tony Vanchieri, 27, a gym teacher in Broward County, Fla. who appeared in a gay porn movie, claims he was misled into believing the video was for modeling scouts. Vanchieri was put on desk duty after MSNBC published a story on its Web site in December that Vanchieri was in the porn video "Solo Guys: Volume 1" (a story that we also reported on when it occurred.)

FOX premiered its 'Temptation Island 2' promotions this evening with a commercial during 'Love Cruise.' The commercial introduced the first couple -- John and Shannon (another Shannon? ...another BLOND Shannon?) from Phoenix, Arizona. 50,000 applicants and they couldn't find anyone with some different names?

'Temptation Island 2' To Premiere On FOX October 31st

FOX has announced that "Temptation Island 2," will premiere with a special launch on Oct. 31.

"We've had an amazing response this year," - 'Temptation Island' executive producer Chris Cowan says of the casting process for this edition. "Last year, we were dealing with a show that nobody really understood the concept to... this year... we had 60,000 respondents."

FOX Orders Up 'Temptation Island 2'

Following great ratings for last night's finale, FOX announced Thursday it will be trying to tear apart more couples with a second season of "Temptation Island." (surprise, surprise, big shocker here)

"'Temptation Island has proven to be compelling television," says Gail Berman, FOX's president of entertainment. "We're pleased it's such a hit with our viewers, and we're scouting locations for the next adventure."

So far, no location, production schedule or possible premiere date has been set.

In a Wednesday conference to discuss the network's performance during the important February "sweeps" period, Fox Television Entertainment Group Chairman Sandy Grushow acknowledged that some advertisers were "squeamish" about buying time on "Temptation Island" due to the show's suggestive content.

"It's been a challenge in the marketplace, as it often is when you push the envelope with content," he said, "We went through this with 'Married ... With Children' 13 years ago." But he dismissed the notion that "Temptation Island" contradicted the network's policy of abandoning exploitative "shockumentaries" that once served as a Fox programming staple. "I don't consider this to be shockumentary programming," he said. "We work in a very dynamic business. Times change."
