Differences from actual event

  • The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters in the film were not modified for stealth.
  • The courier was killed inside the guest house when the Navy SEALs returned fire, not by a Navy SEAL in the courtyard.
  • None of the compound's children wandered outside as the Black Hawks arrived at the scene.
  • Osama bin Laden did not even touch his AK-47 or prepare to use it in defense. When the Navy SEALs checked it, they found an empty magazine.
  • Osama bin Laden was shot in the head when he ducked his head out the doorway to see what was going on. He stumbled back into the room and was shot several more times in the chest.
  • The wife of the courier's brother was killed when she shielded her husband.
  • One of Bin Laden's wives was wounded in the leg by shrapnel.
  • The raid was conducted in pure darkness as the city was going through a blackout.
  • The Navy SEALs were using Night Vision goggles called "NODs", not helmet cameras.
  • The Navy SEALs were using suppressors on their weapons and generally being more quiet than they were portrayed in the film.
